  • Subject, long plain-text body, to or cc people or roles.
  • Priority: routine, important or formal notice.
  • Attachments by reference only; threaded replies; read receipts.
  • Internal only: memos cannot go to external addresses.

  • Rich text, folders search, drafts and delegation.
  • Legal hold and retention purge (a retention flag exists, no purge job).
  • Due-date escalation.
  • Formal-notice templates.
